A new candidate has decided to make a late entry into the race for the Republican nomination. Retired Major General Jerry Curry has decided to throw hit hat into the ring.
Curry says he’s running because he is convinced that no current candidate—of either party—can successfully lead the nation in this time of instability. He promises to preserve American liberties and protect the borders.
“As a General I am trained to lead, not to politic; to protect and defend our country, not to equivocate; to make decisions, and not to delegate them,” said Curry on his official campaign website.
Curry has secured ballot access in a few states, including Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and West Virginia. He says he is banking on a brokered convention to emerge as compromise Republican nominee.
Curry’s other service in government includes posts as Military Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Carter administration, the Press Secretary to the Secretary of Defense in the Reagan administration, and Administrator of the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration in the Bush Sr. administration.
His campaign website highlights his mixed cultural background: “Jerry Curry and his wife, Charlene, have four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Their mixed racial and cultural ancestry represents a rich cross section of many backgrounds—as colorful as America itself—having descended from African American slaves and freemen, Native Americans, French, Irish and Scottish. Jerry Curry is an American for America.”

I new the General in Germany in 1972, I am excited that he is politicaly involved at any leval. He would be an excellent President for these simple reasons; people are drawn to him and he is a proven leader that relates to all economic levals and is able to tear down racial barriers.
